Happy Valley-loving The Oscars can steal the show by taking the featured Peninsula Golden Jubilee Cup at a rare day meeting at the city track this afternoon.
As the Sha Tin turf gets a break ahead for next week's International Races, the action shifts to the Valley and that puts The Oscars solidly in the picture for the longer sprint.
The Oscars, in the care of leading trainer Gary Ng Ting-keung, showed his well-being earlier in the week by taking one of the quartet of trials at the city track and will take all the beating at his favoured venue.
He may not win too many, but The Oscars is always a threat in the right type of race - and at the Valley. On a difficult programme, this 12-runner event looks an exciting contest and there should be good value about in relation to win and quinella odds.
Despite his liking for the track, The Oscars is unlikely to be favourite with that position probably reserved for either topweight Expedient or the David Hayes-trained Perfect Model, who landed a good touch for the stable on his debut last season.
Expedient is drawn in barrier two with odds-on championship favourite, Robbie Fradd, on duty.
