School woos primary pupils

CMA Secondary School held its Information Technology (IT) Cur riculum Orientation Day for Primary Five and Six students last month. It was aimed at providing participants with information on the school's IT curriculum and hands-on experience of its facilities. It also gave Primary Six pupils guidelines on how to select a suit able secondary school.

More than 530 primary school students were given a talk on the school's development, its IT education and the graduates' pros pects. The school took the initiative to implement four IT subjects - business fundamentals, design fundamentals, technology funda mentals and graphical communication - in Secondary One in the 1997-98 school year. It will also introduce technological studies, information technology and graphical communication in Second ary Four next year.

Students then attended lessons on technology fundamentals, design fundamentals, business fundamentals, graphical commu nication, integrated science, computer-assisted language learning, Internet and native English teacher conversation class.
