Flawed system

Like other voters, I went to the polls to vote in the District Councils Election last month, as I did in 1994, simply because we voters respect our civil rights and obligations.

This is in spite of the fact that I and I am sure other voters resented the SAR Government's 20 per cent appointment system.

This gives a lie to a high official's argument that this year's bigger turnout was because the voters favoured it.
