One of the highlights of the Hong Kong International Races Week was the Piaget Hong Kong international sale and gala dinner.

Hosted by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, the event was held at the Grand Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The sale was preceded by the presentation of the Piaget Trophy and a Piaget Altiplano watch to the owner of Winning Boy, the horse with the season's highest earnings. Twenty-four thoroughbreds were auctioned off for a record total of $31 million.
