Exco member praises his old school

Education Commission chairman Antony Leung Kam-chung praised Ying Wa College for producing students whose talents had contributed to Hong Kong's prosperity.

Speaking at the school's speech day, Mr Leung said Ying Wa had a 180-year history and students should treasure its accomplishments.

An old boy, Executive Councillor Mr Leung expressed gratitude to his former headmaster for giving him the chance to continue matriculation studies despite his failure to attain the minimum requirements.

Mr Leung appealed to students to take advantage of the many opportunities offered by the school to ensure an all-round education.

In his school report, principal Yeung Po-kwan focused on the provision of a new multimedia language laboratory financed by the Quality Education Fund.

Mr Yeung praised staff and students for their contributions to the school in the past academic year.
