Glory days ahead for Ho's galloper
Rising Glory can be followed in Class Five sprints after last night's Happy Valley effort behind the much-improved The Most Dauntless.
The Peter Ho-trained galloper appeared to be going well enough just in behind the speed and alongside his stablemate Kinling Superstar as the field swept around the home bend in this 1,000-metre dash.
It was here that Rising Glory lost his chance as he was taken out and around them in an effort to secure a clear run.
He should also come down a couple of points in the ratings and every little helps.
Elsewhere, the Valley card played host to its usual games of bumper cars. There really is so much interference at the city circuit that you do need a fair slice of random luck. And it's not the jockeys' fault. It is the nature of the track.
Dragon Power was all dressed up but with nowhere to go in the third; Gainsborough's Boy and Telecom Prince were both checked out of the race in the sixth won while Surplus did well to make up so much ground in the seventh.
