New Baywatch babe a tomboy deep down

Angelica Bridges is the new babe on the set of the hit US television series Baywatch, and she's relishing every minute of it.
In town to promote the show, Angelica says she had to beat 3,000 other girls for her Baywatch role as Lieutenant Taylor Walsh.
'The competition for a part in Baywatch is unbelievably tough,' she says.
'Some girls would do anything to be on the show . . . you should hear the stories the producers have to tell.' To prepare for her role as a lifeguard and perform the show's de rigeur rescues, Angelica trained for two months before her first scene.
'As a newcomer, I had to train every day. I had to wake up at 5am every morning and swim about 10km. I learnt the butterfly and freestyle properly.' Angelica performs her own stunts and in her first season, cut her foot open, bruised her thighs and was left black and blue all over after trying to 'rescue' a 102kg fisherman.
She says she's a tomboy at heart and 'growing up playing with lots of boys, riding motorbikes and playing lots of sports' helped her cope with the action scenes.
And as far as looking natural on set, Angelica is the first to debunk the myth that the only thing cast members wear other than their swimsuits is a tan.
Everyone, she says, is made-up to look sun-kissed.
'We all get on the set at 5am and it takes two hours to do our hair and make-up . . . in the outdoors it doesn't look like we have lot of make-up on but, believe me, we do.' And how does she feel about being constantly compared with the other beauties on the show? 'I tell myself that I may not have the best body or be the prettiest, but my drive and determination is what sets me apart.
'If you love what you do and have passion for it, it shows.'
