Launch comes with load of baggage
When Louis Vuitton throws a party, you can be sure it will be the talk of the town. So to mark the opening of its first New-Concept store in Taipei where clothes and luggage are sold, a party was held at the Yuen Shan Club in the grounds of the Grand Hotel.
Hong Kong socialities and the beau monde of Taipei turned out to the beat of traditional Chinese drummers and models who posed alongside antique Louis Vuitton trunks. The venue, decorated in imperial Chinese red, dazzled everyone as did the performances by the Tai Yu Dance Company, singing by the Beijing Opera and a breathtaking human butterfly who wandered around on stilts.
New York DJ Geoff Gaines spun his eclectic mix of dance beats while exotic dancers strutted their stuff on podiums dotted around the room. Food was served to those who danced till 4 am.
