New dance courses on offer

The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts will be conducting two junior courses - Social Dance for Children (aged five to 10) and Social Dance for Teenagers (aged 11 to 16) - on Saturday afternoons beginning next month.

In addition, a new Academy Dance Continuing Education Programme will run from February 14 to June 11. Applications are now accepted.

Twenty-seven dance courses have been designed for dancers of all abilities aged 16 or above.

These include beginners' level ballet, modern, jazz, Chinese classical and folk, tap, tango Argentinian, and Latin American and ballroom dance; intermediate level ballet, modern, tap, ballroom and Latin American dance; and advanced level ballet and Chinese classical dance.

Applicants for intermediate or advanced-level courses must have undergone a minimum of two years' training in the dance style they are going to study.

Course fees range from $540 to $2,880.
