Three cheers for the Government for considering scaling back the proposed sports and shopping complex in Stanley.

The complex would have been massive. It would have also overwhelmed Stanley's open-air markets and destroyed the area's distinct charm and character as a tourist attraction.

There was absolutely no justification for locating the complex in Stanley's old district, as most of Stanley's population growth is in the Ma Hang District about one to two kilometres away.
