THE Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) has been called in to investigate allegations staff at Hongkong Polytechnic have been taking bribes. Polytechnic director Professor Poon Chung-kwong launched an internal investigation on March 22 after allegations concerning the conduct of a senior staff member at its Centre for Professional and Continuing Education. The director turned the case over to the ICAC after evidence and admissions of guilt implicated at least one staff member and one external organisation.
