Scholars to enter top universities

Sixteen Form Seven scholarship students from Li Po Chun United World College in Sha Tin have been offered university places at Oxford and Cambridge.

The college has been awarding full and partial scholarships for pre-university studies to students since 1992.

The scholarships are funded by the Li Po Chun Charitable Trust, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charitable Trust and the Lord Wilson Fund.

In addition, about 14 students are selected annually from Hong Kong to attend United World College overseas.

The college is part of the United World Colleges movement which promotes international understanding through education.

Students from all over the world are accepted on merit and proceed to universities after their two-year diploma programme.
