A HEFEI court found two executives of a state firm guilty of accepting bribes even though they had previously been found not guilty by the same court.

The not guilty verdict, based on a ruling that accepting bribes after the fact did not constitute a crime, was recently overturned for two China Electronic Raw Material Company Anhui branch executives.

General manager Chen Xiao and the deputy manager Xu Dechen were given 10 and two-year sentences respectively by the Hefei Intermediate Court.

Chen and Xu accepted a bribe after giving a management project to a man identified only by his surname Li.

Li did not immediately hand out the bribes, waiting instead until he had earned a large profit from managing the project.
