Ask mr Brain...all will be epxlained

Why does ice turn white in the middle? Water is often called a universal solvent because almost anything will dissolve in it.

Air is one of the things that will dissolve in water.

When ice forms quickly, the dissolved air turns back into air bubbles. That is why it is easy to crunch ice that is white.

When ice freezes slowly, there are no air bubbles and the ice is clear (and very hard).

What lizard lays most eggs? The common green iguana routinely lays between 24 and 45 eggs per clutch. The iguana lays eggs once a year, but it is becoming an endangered species because it is killed for food in Latin America.

The Nile monitor lizard, which lives in Africa, may lay between 40 and 60 eggs.

However, experts say these animals nest communally, so scientists are not sure if there is more than one female laying these eggs.

What is nail polish made of? Nail polish is made of resin, usually one called 'nitrocellulose'. That is the main ingredient.

Plasticisers help soften the resin. Then solvents, such as ethyl acetate, are added to help the polish dry. Pigments are combined to come up with colours.
