THE knife-slashed body of a woman, 56, was found in a pool of blood in the toilet of her flat in Lei Muk Shue yesterday morning.

Police were called to Shek Lei Estate just after 11am and found the body slumped in the bathroom with gashes on the head, neck and arms.

A male friend raised the alarm after going to visit her, finding the front door unlocked and entering to discover her body.

She had serious chop wounds.

Police said the flat had been ransacked but it was not known whether anything had been stolen, or what the motive might have been.

The woman, who lived alone in the fourth-floor flat, was certified dead at the scene.

Police said neighbours had not heard anything unusual. Tsuen Wan District Crime Squad is investigating.
