In spite of the erosion of the rule of law I would like to say why I love Hong Kong.

Recently I went for a late breakfast in Delifrance and purchased my meal. I then looked for a newspaper.

At the table next to mine was a Chinese man about to read the Herald Tribune. He looked around the restaurant, took up a Chinese newspaper and then turned to me and asked whether I would care to read the Tribune. Where is such courtesy in other parts of the world? BEN BEAUMONT Central
