Apple Daily and its editor agreed to pay $100,001 over a libel lawsuit launched by the Oriental Press Group after it was alleged that an article published on July 31, 1997, by the newspaper was 'highly derogatory' about the Oriental Daily News and group chief Ma Ching-kwan, and was fabricated.
