Ghostly brush with Oil Street

Farewell to the Oil Street artists' colony once again. The photographer who calls himself 'anothermountainman' for reasons best known to himself - although it could be something to do with the fact he works in advertising and doesn't want his colleagues to know he does alternative stuff on the side - toured around the old government buildings just before they finally closed to artists a couple of months ago.

The photographs are on show until tomorrow at the OP fotogallery. They show the endless rubble that is left behind when installation artists leave: the balloons, rice bowls and other items of the contemporary artist's palette, and testify to the wonderful strangeness of the place. 'I walked around on my own and although it was mid-afternoon it was still a bit scary,' said anothermountainman, looking a bit peaky as he walked me around his show of the ghosts of alternative enterprise.
