A GOOD Samaritan who stopped his van to assist victims of a road crash had it stolen by the people he was trying to help.

The van driver, surnamed Siu, 23, pulled up when he saw two cars had collided in a tunnel in Ching Cheung Road, near Kwai Chung Bridge, yesterday morning.

But Mr Siu got more than he bargained for when four men from one of the crash cars, a Honda Civic, brandished knives.

They ordered him and his passengers to leave the van, and then fled in it.

Police suspect that the four men were gang members.

The Honda Civic burst into flames shortly before they fled.

Investigators said that the car may be linked to an attack on an 18-year-old man by four men armed with knives outside a bar in Yuen Long on April 9.

The other car involved in the accident disappeared before police arrived at the scene.
