Wharf Holdings will wait until next week to decide whether to take its case to a higher court over the ruling of a US appeal court in favour of UnitedGlobalCom (formerly UIH), according to company chairman Gonzaga Li Wei-jen. Mr Li said Wharf would wait for the opinion of the US lawyers before proceeding with the case. 'We are right by fact and by law,' said Mr Li. He noted the company was aware of the escalating legal costs. The Court of Appeal in Denver last Friday ordered Wharf to pay US$185 million to UIH.
