Hands up! What are you wearing? We want to know everything.

Name: Jason Alexander Age: 40-something Occupation: Actor The world may know him as George Costanza in Seinfeld, but at a recent fund-raiser in California, Alexander didn't want to hear talk of it. 'Please, no questions about Seinfeld,' a publicist cautioned. Fine, but can we talk to him about fashion? 'You can try,' said the publicist warily. 'But if he baulks, I'm coming after you.' Costanza - oops! - Alexander didn't baulk. In fact, like every other fashionista-in-training, he loved divulging everything he knew about fashion ... which was not a lot.

'Hong Kong? You're from Hong Kong? Shall I speak to you in Cantonese? What am I wearing? I don't know. Nothing. Okay, maybe something. Where shall we start?' Olive shirt: 'I was given this when I worked on a commercial. Label? What label?' Olive sweater: a gift from his wife - not culled from his working wardrobe.

Underwear: 'My underwear is by Calvin Klein. Does that count for anything?' Grey tailored trousers: 'I got these working on a show. I can't remember which one, and I have no idea what kind of trousers they are.' Black leather brogues: 'When I was working on Broadway, these were part of my act.'
