Loan shark 'hush money'

A 42-year-old Hong Kong woman has been arrested in Macau for allegedly blackmailing a casino loan shark. Police alleged the woman demanded $1 million in 'hush money', telling the loan shark she would drop her criminal complaint against him and not appear as a witness in his trial on usury charges if he paid her. She filed a complaint last month, claiming the loan shark had held her at a flat to force her to pay gambling debts.
