Man Wah at the Mandarin Oriental is featuring the cuisine of Shandong in its promotion which starts today. Chef Li Jianguo and his team of three will be cooking until July 7. Guests can taste the chef's special dishes, which include oil-blanched bean sprouts with rare spices and vinegar, and poached silver gingko nuts in honey Kuei-hua sugar. If you love Greek food, head to the Metropole Hotel. Manolis Kiriakidis, executive chef of the Electra Palace Hotel in Athens, is visiting the hotel to cook for the Greek Experience festival, which runs until July 16. His dishes are on the a la carte menu in Porto, where guests can taste chickpea soup with pomegranate, sauteed shrimps with ouzo and tomato sauce with feta cheese, stuffed lamb with feta cheese and pistachio nuts, and traditional walnut pie with ice-cream. Special Greek dishes are also available on the dinner buffet in Palm Court; it's $188 plus 10 per cent for adults ($118 for children) Monday-Friday, and $208 ($128 for children) Saturday and Sunday. Panorama and Dynasty Chinese restaurants at the New World Renaissance Hotel have introduced cooling summer dishes to their menus. The a la carte menu at Panorama now includes dishes such as Alaskan king crab salad with mango, capsicums and coconut crisp on ginger lime dressing, roasted monkfish with smoked salmon, sage and Mediterranean couscous, and Acacia honey and piripiri chilli-glazed duck breast with orange-lemongrass sauce and spaghetti squash. The 27 Restaurant and Bar at the Park Lane hotel has replaced its Monday-Friday buffet lunch with a new business lunch. The new concept has an appetiser and dessert buffet, and the main course is made to order. The main course choices change bi-weekly, but include dishes such as sauteed beef tenderloin with red wine shallot sauce, grilled salmon with seasonal vegetables and avocado salsa, braised pork spare ribs wu xiu style, fresh linguine with tomato sauce and sauteed mushrooms, or Thai style chicken curry with rice.
