THE controversial Camel cigarette advertisement near the entrance to the Sikh temple in Happy Valley is still there.

Action to remove the hoarding does not appear to be forthcoming despite concerns voiced by the Sikh community (South China Morning Post, April 27).

We have already mentioned the ill effects this hoarding has had on the children who come to study the Sikh holy scriptures at the temple.

Furthermore, there are also three hospitals, including the Ruttonjee cancer hospital, in this vicinity and we are sure patients in these hospitals can see this advertisement through the windows that face the street it's posted on.

Therefore, we once again appeal to the advertisers RJ Reynolds as well as the various district boards and government departments responsible for approving this advertisement to hasten the removal of this most unwelcome hoarding from the midst of the Sikhtemple.
