HK's 'Red Guards'

We are in a situation where an eager academic has accused Hong Kong University authorities of applying political pressure on him.

Before the ink was barely dry, we had furious university students calling for the resignation of the head of the SAR Government and the head of the university. This is tantamount to execution without trial and it does little for our international image.

It reminded me of the behaviour of the Red Guards during the Cultural Revolution. And I thought we lived in a society with a good legal system and respect for human rights and fair play.
