Artists: Gomez

Venue: Manchester Arena

Gomez are a band from Manchester and relatively new to the music scene. They signed a record contract in 1998 while they were still at university.

The Manchester Arena was filled to full capacity for this gig and everyone was looking forward to what the local superstars had to offer.

Gomez received a rapturous reception after they kept the crowd waiting for 45 minutes. They began with what could be considered their most famous track, Whippin' Picadilly. As the temperature rose from the heat of jumping bodies, the favourites continued with Get Myself Arrested and Rhythm & Blues Lullaby, just to name a few.

Gomez talked and joked with the audience throughout the performance. This was well-received and the crowd demanded more songs at the end.

Overall, it was a successful homecoming for a band whose popularity and success in the music industry is expected to soar.
