Scott likes it hot in heaven
SINCE this has been declared Alan Scott Week in commemoration of Hongkong's much-in-the-news former transport secretary, Keeping Posted pays its own tribute.
The bearded Scott departs this world and goes to heaven (at least for the purposes of this joke) where his entry through the Pearly Gates is observed by his former Hongkong boss, Sir Edward Youde, who is far from happy to see his subordinate being directed by St Peter to share a cloud with Marilyn Monroe. Naturally, Sir Edward goes down to see St Peter to register a protest. ''Listen, Youde,'' says St Peter wearily, ''the way I choose to punish Marilyn is no concern of yours.''
