Surgeons were battling to re-attach a worker's right thumb last night after it was severed by a sewing machine in a Kwun Tong factory. Ng Wing-kan, 43, had his thumb sliced off while operating the machine in the ninth-floor unit of Kwun Tong Industrial Centre in Kwun Tong Road. He was taken to United Christian Hospital.
