Fishermen held off Jolo island

Philippines naval authorities have impounded a Hong Kong-based fishing boat and detained four of its crew for illegal entry off the southern island of Jolo, which is under a naval blockade amid a six-week search for hostages held by Abu Sayyaf guerillas. The North Sea 1 was intercepted on Monday when the crew failed to present fishing and entry permits, said First Lieutenant Epifanio Navarro of the regional coastguard office.
