Women must have contraception rights

The article 'Women's blood sweat and tears' (South China Morning Post, November 15) was heartbreaking. These women come to Hong Kong in search for a more promising life, but they have no relatives, no friends and are financially dependent on their husbands. That makes them very vulnerable.

If husbands are too ignorant to use condoms, then women owe it to themselves to learn more about the subject and the availability of female contraception. Women need to protect themselves. This is important because many of them have children to care for too.
