KIMBO Bell caught the eye in race three with a fast-finishing fourth, and he looks set to lose his maiden tag soon. The place to be in this 1,400-metre contest was up on the pace, with the principals Ace Of Pace, I Deliver and Namjong Spirit always in the van.
While that trio went on to fight out a thrilling finish, split only by short heads, the David Oughton-trained Kimbo Bell came from way off the pace in the straight to chase them up.
Howard Cheng's mount was at the back in the early stages but made up a lot of ground late on to finish only three-quarters of a length behind the winner. The fifth horse, Seven Glory, was another three-quarters of a length behind Kimbo Bell, who looks one to watch in a similar event.
