NBA play-off

ONLY one NBA play-off game was longer than yesterday's triple-overtime victory by Phoenix.

The Boston Celtics beat Syracuse 111-105 in four overtimes on March 21, 1953, and they defeated Phoenix 128-126 in the only other triple overtime in the finals on June 4, 1976.

Only two other championship series games have gone beyond one overtime - Boston and St Louis in Game Seven of the 1957 NBA Finals and Milwaukee and Boston in Game Six of the 1974 finals.

Kevin Johnson played 62 of a possible 63 minutes to break the finals record of 61 by Garfield Heard of Phoenix.
