Restaurant lacking Christmas spirit

In the last week of November, I received through the mail a 20 per cent discount voucher from Joyce Boutiques to be used in the company's restaurant at any time during the month of December. The voucher clearly said it was valid for three persons or more.

On December 6, I invited two friends for lunch at Joyce Cafe in Exchange Square. After we had finished our meal. I presented my gift voucher with my Joyce Visa card to pay.

The manager of the restaurant came back to tell me I could not use the voucher because I only had two guests. He admitted that the gift voucher was misleading because of the wording - minimum three persons and not three guests. In spite of that, I could not use the voucher.

May I, through these columns, say, 'thank you, but no thank you' to Joyce and Co for your Christmas cheer.

My Joyce Visa card has been returned in two pieces to HSBC.
