HK kite festival a treat for participants

More than 30,000 participants had an enjoyable day out at the largest ever Hong Kong International Kite Festival at the former Kai Tak Airport.

Participants also enjoyed the various activities organised for them, which included kite exhibitions and workshops, variety shows and other recreational and sports programmes for children.

A total of 26 kite teams took part in the competition and demonstrations.

The award for The Best in Artwork went to Bertrand Rosier from France. Johan Hallin from Sweden was awarded the prize for The Best in Creativity and Le Gong Kite Association from Indonesia received The Best in Native Characteristics award.

The Best in Flying Skills award was presented to the Eagle Team from Shanxi, China.
