NPC deputies' office to open in spring

The long-awaited office for the SAR's National People's Congress deputies will open in spring, enabling it to take an active role in serving the public, a local deputy has said. A mainland official has been posted to Hong Kong to man the office's secretariat, which provides support for the 36 local deputies in dealing with local affairs. Local deputy Allen Lee Peng-fei said an office was under preparation in the new building of the Beijing Liaison Office in West Point, Western.
