Speech day honours Form Five and Seven graduates
St Catharine's School For Girls' speech day was held on November 24, the day before the feast day of St Catharine of Alexandria, patron saint of the school.
Guests at the event included Hong Kong Examinations Authority secretary Choi Chee- Cheong, Bishop Louis Tsui, Wong Fung-yi, Reverend Dr Eric Chong and members of the school council.
Mr Choi spoke of the need for life-long learning and reflected on the importance of extra-curricular activities.
Principal T. L. Sun, in her report, praised students' high academic standards, but also emphasised the student body's participation and enthusiasm for wide-ranging programmes as an underlying reason for the school's success as a whole.
For the prize-giving ceremony, former Form Seven graduates returned from their new university studies to receive recognition for their efforts in the public examinations held earlier last year. Form Five graduates also received awards.
After the formalities, guests were entertained with poetry recitals, dance and musical performances.
