A NUMBER of press reports recently regarding young people, have caused me to be concerned about moral education in Hongkong. The fact is that there is not enough moral education for youngsters.

I understand that recent research from the Family Planning Association, has revealed that 2.8 per cent of boys and girls have had sex before the age of 15. If the situation is not controlled, and young people cannot be helped to cope with their problems,this could have serious consequences for Hongkong's future.

Youngsters need not only academic knowledge but also sexual and moral education. Students' timetables are full of subjects like physics, chemistry and history. There is no time allocated for them to learn about the meaning of life.
