Real chance for would-be Web designers

If you are artistically inclined, try your hand at the Public Libraries Web Page Design Competition. It is open to senior secondary or post-secondary students. The deadline for entries is February 23.


The theme is the information age and there are strict guidelines about what content it must include. The design should be within a maximum of 20 pages, with 10 in Chinese and 10 in English. Detailed information about Hong Kong Public Librar ies can be obtained from http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/Library.


The competition is divided into two categories. Category A is for full-time senior secondary students (From Four to Seven) and Category B is for full-time post-secondary students. Entries can be submitted by individuals or in teams of up to four members from the same school.


All entries will be assessed according to relevance to the theme, artistic value, creativity. proficiency in effective utilisation of chosen computer graphic tools and ease of maintenance.


Scholarship, trophies and certificates will be given to the winners.
