Racism pervades HK

After reading the article headlined 'Life and death of the bottom of the race pile', by Martin Jacques (South China Morning Post, March 6), I had to agree with him that there is an urgent need for anti-racism legislation in Hong Kong.

Racism is everywhere in Hong Kong, and it is not just people with darker skins who are victims. Some Chinese people are also victims.

Any legislation must be given teeth, and all government departments and companies must adhere to it. Those who break the new law must be punished.

By being tough, the Government can send a strong signal that it means business.
