Give people equal chance

SOME years ago, I wrote to complain about the trolleys at Kai Tak Airport and with the support of a few other readers, I was delighted to find that the service has been improved substantially ever since.

It is to the credit of the airport authority that it has improved services in general over the last few years.

There is yet another area that the authority needs to pay attention to. This is the queueing for taxis. One night the attendant in charge of directing the flow of taxis, left halfway and all the taxis came to one queue leaving none to serve the other queue. Everyone in the queue was furious and this gave a very bad impression to guests visiting Hongkong.

To solve this problem and yet be able to save cost, the authority should consider adopting the queueing system of a bank. Everyone will then have an equal chance to get the transport and all will be happy.
