JUDGING by the talk one hears around the place these days, much ire has been wrought by the seemingly arrogant ways of Wembley International, the parvenu management guys from London who have been handed the job of running the new Hongkong Stadium.
How dare they breeze into town and instantly assume they know what is best for our most sacred March rite - the Invitation Rugby Sevens - to which people make an annual pilgrimage from all over the region? And whose madcap idea was it in the first place to bring in an outside ''expert'' with its bottom-line management style to run Hongkong's soon-to-be sporting pride and joy? There must have been local expertise - more in tune with the mood of Hongkongers - ready and able to take on the task.
Besides, that cold, soul-less, people-unfriendly concrete monstrosity that is Wembley Stadium is hardly what we want as a role model for our spanking new place.
A decision made by a committee, for sure?
