Bank manager cleared of stealing $570,000 life-savings from client

A former Dao Heng Bank branch manager accused of swindling an elderly client out of her life-savings of more than $570,000 was acquitted yesterday. Eastern Court magistrate Robert McNair cleared Mak Kam-ho, 49, of theft, saying guilt could not be proved beyond reasonable doubt.
