Red chip China Foods Holdings hopes that its long-awaited acquisition of a Coca-Cola bottling operation from its ultimate mainland parent will be launched within this year, according to company chairman Xue Guoping. The red chip is involved in edible oil, flour processing and beverage operations. China Food Holdings, yesterday renamed Cofco International, is a listed vehicle of mainland food-related giant China National Cereals, Oils & Foodstuffs Import & Export Corp (Cofco), and is one of 19 units held by the parent.
