Clinton a great leader
I think the [Associated Press] report headlined 'Comeback kid Bill Clinton reinvents himself' (South China Morning Post, May 11) was in poor taste.
Bill Clinton tried harder than any president in my lifetime to do a good job. He did the best work of any president since Franklin D. Roosevelt. He did more to develop a feeling of 'friendship' between the average American and Chinese than any other White House occupant.
There was no energy crisis under Mr Clinton, and our young people had a vision of the future.
I admire him for what he did best, which was to give the rest of us hope that our two countries, China and the United States, could move forward in a spirit of friendship. Shame on those who cannot appreciate how great a president he was.
