Beware of track bias

With the rail moved back to the natural 'A' course for today's final meeting of the season at Sha Tin, punters may be best advised to watch for a possible bias toward the inside, on the 'fresh' part of the track.

With the deluge of rain that has fallen recently, the outer part of the track, or more accurately from about four wide, has taken a severe battering and is showing signs of wear and tear.

From a punter's perspective, the low barriers in Hong Kong are always a significant factor, but they could play an even more vital role today with a possibility of strong track bias towards the inside. With a couple of low-grade events to kick off the card, it may be advisable to wait and see if the bias is evident.
