Until last Sunday, Mamita revelled in the title Miss Nepal Hong Kong - although she never gave up her day job as an administrative clerk for Bayern Gourmet Food, or her part-time work as internet marketing manager for a family member's website, She won the title last April against 17 other contestants (all Hong Kong-born Nepalese). She also picked up the trophies for Miss Photogenic and Miss Best Dress for her ethnic Nepali attire. Then, as all good beauty queens must, she handed on her crown to this year's girl, Puja Subba. Mamita, who returned to Hong Kong in 1996 after gaining an economics degree at Kathmandu University, loves to dance and choreographs dance sequences for pashmina fashion shows put on by When not working, dancing or competing, she hangs out at Repulse Bay and browses for new clothes at Marks & Spencer.

Hairpiece: from a speciality shop near Jordan MTR station. She washes her own hair with Sifone shampoo.

Face: cleansed with Johnson + Johnson products.
