For those craving a little virtual male companionship, Hong Kong CSL has launched a new edition of its mobile dating game. The game with male characters, oriented towards women, is called U Date Me on the One2Free service.

It changes strategy from the first CSL offering called i-Date U, which has five females for men to chase. In U Date Me, players seek to be wooed by two virtual males called Andy and Tim, created by one of Hong Kongs largest mobile operators. Andy is described as a 27-year-old, progressive information technology engineer, while Tim is a 25-year-old, talented creative director in advertising.

The characters send players text messages, ask them out on dates, and send virtual presents. The goal of the game is to get a chosen character to commit by reaching certain levels in a charm index. The original version of the game by CSL, a firm majority owned by Australia's Telstra, has about 50,000 active players plus casual users.
