HKUST wins $15m for diode research

Researchers at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology have been awarded a $15 million grant by the Government's Innovation and Technology Fund, alongside sponsorship of $1.5 million from three local companies, for a three-year project on high-brightness inorganic blue/green light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The devices are commonly used in large-area display panels.
