I was offered a contract by a local kindergarten, in which one of the clauses concerned sick leave. It stated that if I took a day of sick leave, I would be deducted a day's salary. However, were I not to produce a doctor's sick note, then two days' salary would be deducted. Can you tell me if this is legal? Often, when one feels ill, a day of rest is all that is needed, without the time and cost of consulting a doctor. I should be interested to learn of any rules, if any, regarding this matter.
