PANDEMONIUM broke out at Macau's Lisboa Casino yesterday when a fire extinguisher crashed to the floor and sprayed patrons with foam. Business was suspended for half-an-hour while gamblers dashed out into the street clutching their money, chips and domino cards, despite the efforts of staff and police to maintain order.

The panic was prompted by fears of a bomb attack. A croupier was knocked against the wall and suffered a slight head injury in the stampede for the doors.
